THIS IS A GROUP POST DONE BY SHUYANG.
During the trip to the Home, Ara, derrick ,JX and me have learnt alot of morals that we can not find in Damai.As this was a special visit that we did together it held fond memories and tired days we spent together. There was this old man that told us he used to be a chef at a intercontinental hotel but succumbed to playing in Genting till he was drugged and sent to the home , though there were some lies along the way that we detected, I felt that it was just to entertain us so that we would not feel bored. All the old folks were all specialized in one aspect, and the one we talked to was a very experienced chef. From my point of view, i think that all old folks should be respected as they were the ones that built singapore with the pioneers from scratch. We also reached a consensus that the kids are evil to leave them all alone. Though this is more of a sad case, we felt happy that there volunteers to help take care of them. The old folks also told us that they can redeem money every month but chances are that they will be stolen by some other old folk , so they always keep a pouch beside them 24/7.
Before the trip, four of us were all very laidback and happy-go-lucky but after the trip we felt that this is the sad truth of life and it is really happening.Though we all have morals taught by parents, there are just some stuff in life that u have to go through to know how cruel the world is. From this trip to the Home, the four of us felt that if we have more time we would definately spent more of our time there rather than spend it on shopping etc.
